Privacy policy
This site collects very little, and none of it is sold or shared for advertising. Here is exactly what happens to anything you send us.
01 Who we are
Upload Web is a web design business based in Combe Martin, North Devon, and is a trading name of Joshua Woodger. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for information collected through this website. We work from a home address, so it is not published here; we will give it in writing to anyone who needs it, including for service of documents. Ask by email and we will send it.
The quickest way to reach us about anything on this page, including asking for a copy of what we hold or asking us to delete it, is by email: contact@uploadweb.co.uk.
02 What we collect
The only information we ask you for is what you type into the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your business name, if you give one
- Your phone number, if you give one
- Whatever you write in the message
We do not ask for anything else, and there is no account to create. If you email us directly instead, we hold whatever is in that email.
03 Why we hold it
To read your enquiry and reply to it, and to quote for work if you ask us to. Under UK GDPR our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services.
We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send marketing, and we do not sell or rent your details to anybody.
04 How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not turn into a project, we delete it within twelve months. If it does, we keep the correspondence for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards, which is the period we may need it for tax and contractual records.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
05 Who else sees it
Only the services that make the website work. We use:
- Resend to deliver contact form submissions to our inbox as an email. They handle the message in transit and do not use it for anything else. Their servers are outside the UK, and transfers rely on the safeguards set out in their own data processing terms.
- Cloudflare to host and serve the site, and to run the form's anti-spam check (Turnstile). Cloudflare processes connection data such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and block abuse. Turnstile does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
- Our email provider, which is where your message ends up so we can answer it.
No third party receives your details for their own marketing purposes.
07 Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Stop or restrict what we do with it
- Provide it in a portable format
- Stop relying on legitimate interests, where that is our basis
Email us and we will deal with it within one month. There is no charge, and we will not make it difficult.
08 Complaints
If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
09 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. We will not quietly start doing something with your information that this page says we do not do.
